• Mine is in use almost 24/7 and has never overheated once! Def worth the money.

• I've had no problems with the NIC, at all. Documentation does reference increased warmth/heat, but I've had no problem. Are you using the external antennae or going direct into USB port? May want to try the cable/antennae+stand format (in a properly ventilated space).

• I have used this for gaming marathons with no issue. Mind you this is also in a small room with one enthusiast grade gaming pc and one mid tier gaming pc with poor to no a/c and other electronics
