“We have a Net gear 50 router & have poor reception in a bedroom in the opposite end of the house 60 ft. away & would also would like to get reception in a outside shop 100 ft. away from the opposite direction from the bedroom. The shop is a metal building”

Not sure exactly what the questions was. My modem & router are somewhat in the middle of my apartment, however, I was finding that the wifi was dropping off in my kitchen and breakfast room. I would try to use a temperature probe that would connect via wifi to my phone and was repeatedly getting a message that there was no wifi. Since installing this extender, I have not had that problem. I would say that the kitchen & breakfast room are about 30 feet away from my router and certainly not in line of sight.
