• Yes and no. Yes, if are using this for a computer at home and only connect to your home internet. However, if you use this for connection to public WiFi then you do not need to pay for your own provider.

• Yes. This device eliminates the wire from the computer to the wireless modem, but does not connect to the internet on it's own.
