• The NetGear EX6100 AC 750 will work with MOST brands of routers. The setup must be done in the same room with the host router and yes you can encrypt the password as it has the same setup options as your router. It will offer the same password protection as your host router.

• Yes, and the password will be the same. They do seamlessly connect to your devices, that being said it does create a new wifi network name, just join this network as you did with your wifi router, the password is the same, choose connect automatically, and if you lose signal at your router, you will automatically connect to this range extender, you will never even know you did.

• Yes... However I found that I could not connect when my router was using WEP security. Updating the router to WPA security resolved the issue and the extender worked fine. You can use the same password for your router to connect to the extender so you don't have to remember multiple passwords.

• The Netgear is password protected. I had to enter my router password to connect it and then a password for the Netgear as well - it is protected
