“This extender is not working well. The garage is where I workout on my treadmill and get caught up on work. The main router is upstairs, the netgear extender is downstairs, in the kitchen, close to the garage. What should I purchase for better results?”

Location of your extender is critical. I have 3 of these extenders situated throughout a large 2-story house. It is just a matter of finding the best spot as close as you can to halfway between your router and the device you are trying to reach. This is a great extender if you position it correctly after carefully following the activation/connection instructions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Before returning the extender, I would recommend moving the extender closer to the router. Lights on the extender may also indicate this. If the extender is too far away from the router it will not get a signal and will not work. The extender needs to be in range of the router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had similar issue in that my router is in my office out building and needed to get stronger signal far end of house . My solution when my first pick to locate gave poor strengh I used my cell phone to find strong signal the closet to where I needed then plugged unit there . That gave good signal to house in that extender had good signal to extend out .
