With Arlo Smart, you know what caused motion and what is in the video recorded by your Arlo cameras. Arlo Smart categorizes alerts into four categories: People, Animals, Vehicles and Others. This allows you to, for example, configure the system to filter cars and animals and receive alerts only when your camera detects a person. Arlo Smart also reduces unwanted alerts by filtering minor movements within the video capture area, such as swaying branches and rustling leaves.
This means that an alert comes only when your attention is really required, improving your ability to keep your loved ones and your home safe.
All of this is made possible by using advanced machine learning algorithms that improve daily by learning from what happens in the camera’s environment. Despite machine learning’s heavy use of cloud computing resources, Arlo is committed to investing in these capabilities to solve our customers’ complex home security problems. Person detection and filtering of minor movements are the first of several home security problems that we are trying to solve for our customers.
