• A:Answer Yes. This works on RCN/Astound and on xfinity/comcast. Not sure about other providers, although the product info included with the unit has phone numbers to call to activate internet service for Mediacom, Optimum, Sparklight, and Spectrum (as well as a website to access for xfinity). Presumably, it should work on all of those systems.

• A:Answer Only if your cable provider is giving you more bandwidth than your current router is pushing through. Check the information on your cable provider's website to see the maximum download rate to your home or office, and which modem-routers are approved by your cable company.

• A:Answer Well I was able to answer my own question this modem is compatible with optimum, because it’s and I quote from optimum “DOCSIS 3.0” And is compatible with my network speed of 100 Mb per second. I have not received it yet but hopefully this will resolve my issue right now as I have extremely slow speeds with my current modem
