“upgradeable? is the c3700 N600 upgradable from the 802.11n, to the new standard 802.11ac via firmware? I saw several listings that showed it could be upgraded. is this true?”

• No, there are no firmware updates for this product. This has been on the market for years and Netgear abandoned it on Day 1.

• anozira, I asked NETGEAR and their reply is "The antennas are built in to the device, and it cannot be modify or upgrade by installing new software."

• I'm not a 100% positive, but in general when a new standard (like B, G, N, AC) comes out it requires new hardware. The only way it would be upgradeable via Firmware would be if it had Beta AC (so it would be listed as supporting AC most likely) and the Firmware ups it to the final standard. This occurred a lot with Wireless N since it was in "beta" for a long time before the standards were finalized. This wasn't the case with AC.
