• Just plug it in. Log in to the modem/router as per the instructions in the document and do the set up. Most of the time it will work. If not, call comcast to register the router with them.

• You just have to follow the instructions (included in the box) to activate the modem. If it doesn't work for some reason, give comcast support a call and they should be able to help you out. I did not have any problems activating it though.
