• no you still have to use Time Warner's modem for the home phone but if you are using there modem for phone only you are not charged leasing fee. If you call them the can walk you through how to set it up

• Can't be %100 sure on that but the product states it's Time Warner and Xfinity compatible. I have Xfinity and it works great.
