• You need the Wifi password from your wireless access point. The procedure involves connecting your Wifi computer to the signal broadcast by the N300, and switching from there to your central wifi. There is a brief set of instructions in the box, with the router, along with some sample screen shots.

• Depends on how far away you are from the router and if you know the security key (WEP). If you are far from the router with lots of walls in between, I would say it won't work for you. It only extends a router tht isn't far away - almost in line of site.
