You will need a plan with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to connect to the Internet. This router just assists in sending a WiFi signal, it does not connect you to the Internet with out an Internet plan with one of the various ISP's available i.e. Time Warner, AT&T, WowWay, etc

You will need a Internet Service Provider (ISP). This equipment 1) connects with your ISP via the modem then 2) the router distributes the internet service to the various devices you have connected to it either through a cable or via WiFi which is a built in feature of the router.
