A:AnswerYes, you are correct. You may also want to check with your service provider if this modem will work with them. I ended up purchasing this exact modem/router and skipped having to lease one by Comcast. Once you get everything hooked up, you will need to call your service provider and they will add your modem onto the network and get it working for you.
A:AnswerYes it works with Cox Communications... It States this on the front of the Box... Just Call Cox and give them the Numbers they ask.. don't plug it in until you do this... they will tell you to turn on your modem and you are done... basically.. Lastly... tell Cox you want to "Self Install" your Service.. then they only charge you $20 bucks... instead of $50...
A:AnswerI'm not sure what the max number of devices are but I currently have 3 game systems, 4 smartphones, and 3 laptops connected to it and it shows no signs of lag or slowing down . Hope this helps.
A:AnswerVia ethernet cable, you will have a hard wired and much faster connection. It doesn't need to be connected to a PC to pick up the wireless signal however.
A:AnswerYes, it works fine. The protocols it uses are industry standards. I have multiple Win10, Win7, Win8.1, Server 2012, and multiple Linux versions all running at the same time.
A:AnswerThe Netgear N300 was recommended to me by Bright House and I also have one of these being used with Comcast. This unit worked without any problems in the initial installation by the technician. I connected my PC wirelessly manually and automatically with my Roku devise. Just pushed the buttons and in less than a minute got connected and working.
A:AnswerI have had the same problem connecting Magic Jack and now the NetGear modem stopped working after only 13 months. My previous modem lasted 3 years! I really think the issue is with the modem because I have never had an problems with Magic Jack with my previous router (One leased from cable provider and the Linksys modem.
A:AnswerYes it will. You may have to access the settings but Netgear or Ooma tech support should be able to help you with that. I have VOIP phone service and at first I could make outbound calls but couldn't receive calls till we changed a setting in this modem.
A:AnswerI have comcast for internet and basic tv. It works fine. After about 6 months of use without any problems, there were a couple of time when the wifi signal would drop out. Also, the speed dropped really slow. Once I turned off the modem and turned it back, everything went back to normal.
Have had to do this three times.
