• It is a router as well. I bought this particular unit to replace my leased unit from Time Warner and it works great!

• It will not auautomatically configure itself but you can configure it as a router. If you have multiple wired devices you may want to use a basic swtch to accommodate them

• This is a modem with two ethernet ports on it.
