I have been using the NETGEAR - Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem for Spectrum Internet for about 3 weeks now. What I found out about the 4 ports is that they are for individual IP addresses. So, if you only pay for one IP (which is normal for your average homeowners) you only use one of those plugs. Each plug is capable of milti-gig speeds and does NOT function as a wired router. I upgraded from 200mbps to 400mbps and get 430mbps on all wired devices. (Wireless speeds vary on proximity to the wireless router). From the plug on the back, you go to your wireless router, and from there, depending on how many plugs are on it, to your wired devices. If there aren't enough plugs, you'll need a switch (multiport ethernet splitter) for the remaining wired devices. If you want great speeds, make sure your wireless router and switches are capable of the speeds your paying for. The modem has not disappointed us at all, and I would highly recommend it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
