“Just added this to our home network as the through-point to a mesh system. Experiencing many internet drops on my ethernet wired computers. Didn't have this issue in the past with my Arris Surfboard that the NETGEAR - Nighthawk replaced. Any thoughts?”

Have you checked and make sure the software is up to dates? The Arris is not particular about the connection while the Netgear actually has a measuring device you can see on the Admin interface. I had the same issue when I went from the Cable providers (cheap version) to the Nighthawk and took them 6 months to figure out that the problem was on their side.
