I needed an upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the beginning of the year, I’ve been having sketchy service with my Internet has Comcast has made a lot of changes which aren’t all the greatest. Having Comcast and Bestbuy out to find out what the problems are. Didn’t get much luck.. decided to upgrade my equipment so far everything is just running perfectly smooth no buffering whatsoever pictures great my equipment will be paid off in no time. My Internet tripled with the last mode of my head, and even more went up. Surely not disappointed, and it was easy to set up.

Netgear CM2000 is one best 2023 modem or maybe #1
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best 3.1 DOCSIS Modem that could support up to 2.5GBPS internet service or maybe the only one modem in 2023. This Modem is better and more stable than Arris S33. I'm currently using with COX internet and is solid connection so far. When you pair Netgear CM2000 with Orbit 970 Router on 1GB Cox internet service you will get maximum speed. (very expensive combo) links modem and router https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-nighthawk-32-x-8-docsis-3-1-cable-modem-black/6425817.p?skuId=6425817 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-orbi-970-series-be27000-quad-band-mesh-wi-fi-7-system-2-pack-white/6553329.p?skuId=6553329 Please NOTE that the best OVPN routers are the ASUS brand. Using others router brands is not a simple and not available. See picture of speed test done on a Iphone 15 pro with Netgear CM2000 and Orbit 970 with 1GB Cox internet plan.

Excellent modem very very fast
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Netgear cm2000 modem is almost twice as fast as my previous Netgear modem. I also purchased the Netgear Nighthawk rs700s router. I purchased a new HP Omen gaming computer so I figured it was time for an upgrade, and I made the right choice.

Spotty Rarely
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is a beast! Works perfectly and gives me fast speeds. My only complaint is that it can be spotty rarely. Like in a blue moon or something i wont be able to connect to the routers its connected to. Super slim and sleek as well. Love it!

No animals were hurt while installing this modem.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.IMPORTANT: this is a modem and modem only. It doesn't have a router, wifi or phone service. You will need another device for those functions like a Netgear Nighthawk RAX series wifi router if you want to stick with netgear. as a cable modem it works just fine and fully takes advantage of my 1GB service, my provided by ISP modem was flaky from the start. The gigabit Ethernet ports act as one through link aggregation. they do not function as a switch allowing you to connect all your devices through it. I knew this but forgot when i was setting it up and was running in circles for 30 minutes or so. All of the ports on the back are yellow which in consumer devices usually indicate this... no idea why I thought this... being an experienced network admin... i guess we all have moments :-) Put one ethernet from one of the ports into your router (sold separately) from there plug in your devices in to the router To take advantage of the other three ports you need a router/switch that supports link aggregation. This feature is only useful if you have internet and/or networks speeds over 1gb. It would've been nice just to have a single 2.5/5/10gb Ethernet port rather than four. another nice plus is the dedicated power switch. Haven't had to use it yet but nice having it there for when i do.

True 1Gbps speed, easy setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short Review: This will likely get you the speeds you’re paying for, and yes it outputs 1 Gbps speeds without issue. I tried a “cheap” modem (around $100) and got at best 500 Mbps. I tried Xfinity Complete Modem/Router and got at best 700 Mbps. With this I easily get a fairly consistent 900+ Mbps (Paired with the Netgear AX4200 router and Xfinity 1Gbps plan). If you have a 1Gbps+ Internet plan I’d highly recommend this modem.

Q: QuestionI'm curious if this modem is compatible with Spectrum high speed data for internet and Voice for the phone connection. The modem I have now I would still end up needing something else if I purchased one that wouldn't let me connect the phone line right?
Asked by GottAKnow.
- A:Answer This modem is compatible with Spectrum's "Internet Gig" service at 940 Mb/s speed; which is what I have. You need a separate modem for your phone line. I use an Arris model that was provided by Spectrum. If you have a modem for your phone line, you can (and should!) continue to use that for your phone line.

Q: QuestionWill this work with the ASUS RT-AX86U AX5700 Dual Band router?
Asked by Cheese.
- A:Answer The Netgear CM2000 has worked great with the Asus RT-AX86U for me. I settled on the Asus router and was satisfied with its performance soon after upgrading to a 1 Gigabit service plan with Suddenlink. Getting a capable modem that connected and performed at an appropriate speed was more of a challenge. After failing to get anything close to the 980 Mb rate claimed to be available with the 1 Gig service using four prior 32 channel Dox 3.0 modems, then Arris' S33 released about the same time as the Netgear CM2000, this Nighthawk modem finally provided the speed Suddenlink indicated I should have. Four technicians were sent by Suddenlink over a month-and-a-half, because none of the support personnel were able to provide substantive help over the phone for the other modems' slow performance. The cable lines tested appropriately with a strong clean signal, but several of the modems topped out around 100 Mb (including the Arris S33), while a couple reached a mid-300 Mb speed. Both the CM2000 and Asus RT-AX86U were difficult to find and purchase during the final months of 2020, but when Best Buy finally showed availability of this Nighthawk modem, it dramatically increased the speed Suddenlink said I should have to an acceptable level for the first time. I've often tested speeds from a mid-700 Mb range to sometimes reaching upper 800s. The 900-plus Mb speed has remained unavailable, but a couple of the technicians mentioned that we're in a highly saturated service area where many neighboring households share the cable bandwidth, limiting its theoretical speed. After a tiresome process to get the upgraded internet speed with Suddenlink, the Netgear CM2000 has performed ideally with the Asus router you've asked about. We are getting strong Wifi 6 speeds on a couple of laptops along with solid, consistently lag-free performance on phones, tablet, and smart TVs. The performance and capability of the Netgear and Asus together are about as future proof as you're likely to find in this field.

Q: QuestionIs this modem compatible with Optimum cable provider company?
Asked by Internet39.
- A:Answer It should work well with your Optimum service. I have Suddenlink as my provider in the North Austin metro area, and Suddenlink and Optimum are related divisions under Altice as the parent company. This was the first modem to provide anything close to the 1 Gig speed I upgraded to late last year, after five other modems were tried with miserably slow performance. The Netgear CM2000 was the first to give anything approaching 1 Gig speed with some readings registering mid-to-upper 800 Mb download speeds.

Q: QuestionDo you guys experience issues with channel bonding & have lights for the up/down channels both blinking constantly? I keep having to GUI restart/cold reboot my modem which temporarily fixes the issue but then occurs again after a few days.
Asked by GadgetGuy.
- A:Answer Yes. I have the same problem only with the downstream channel. It seems to cause loss of IPv6 when using my XBOX Series X. Power reset only temporarily fixes the problem.

Q: QuestionWill it help with buffering issues when streaming 4k movies
Asked by Lboni.
- A:Answer It can but... Streaming problems vary widely from application to application IE what’s your cable plan giving you for UPload & Download speeds? Do you have upgraded Ethernet cords cat7 or better yet cat8? The list goes on.. Is your Router up to date to match this 3.1 Modem? your modems ONLY the bottleneck IF you’re replacing an older 3.0 modem & everything else is upgraded to match it.. etc etc

Q: QuestionThis in the product description says "Wired Speed 10000 megabits per second" which is 10gb is this actually 10gig? Or is there a typo on here?
Asked by Nightsway.
- A:Answer The modem is capable of linking speeds up to 10GbE however it only has a 2.5GbE port so that is the bottleneck. I haven't seen consumer modem with a 10GbE or SFP+ port necessary for greater than 2.5GbE connection yet.
