“Can this be setup so that it connects wirelessly to my router, but does not broadcast any wireless network (no SSID)? I only need the extender for two wired devices that are too far from the router (and I don't want to run cable through the house)”

I have mine set up with out SSID. And it device will definitely improve- extend wifi service/ speed to however many devices.
