“I am looking for a faster download speed and am wondering if this will help? Some have said it will and others have said it won't, I'm confused. I only have 6 Mbps of download speed from at&t and don't have the option to get faster bc it's not available”

Any router/modem will only accept the speed of your connection. If your connection is limited to 6, nothing will go faster. If you think there is a bottleneck, there is a SLIGHT possibility that some setting can be adjusted to prevent packet fragmentation. Adjusting the MTU setting might help. If you google MTU setting, you will find some tests that may help you adjust this. But bottom line, if you are getting data through a straw, no matter how big a hose you attach to the straw, you are limited by the size of the straw. You can always look for a faster provider.
