Alexa works off of your wifi signal. So if you install this router properly and have a "wifi" signal, Alexa should work fine. Please be aware that the closer Alexa is to the router, the better it will work. The wifi signal will weaken the further it is away from the router. I had to purchase a wifi extender to get a good enough signal in the rear bedroom to be able to stream TV / movies. Streaming music takes much less bandwidth than video, so Alexa should... work ok.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an Amazon Echo, that is connected via this Netgear AC2400 WI-FI Router. The Echo was able to see both the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz Signals, offered by the Router, and I have it connected via 5-GHz Signal. The Echo can handle any of our "Alexa" Questions/Requests, and Streams Music without any Lags, Pauses, or Drops via the AC2400 WI-FI Signal. However, I do not "believe" that the Netgear AC2400 Router itself, can be controlled like certain "Smart-Devices", via Alexa. Hope this helps.
