New Netgear AC2400 wireless router. Replaced old tired no longer supported WRT54R. Setup in app went very smoothly. Allows each device to be names like wife cell, my tablet, etc. Now Supports streaming TV , laptop, desktop, 3 tablets, smartphone. No longer get video hangs or drop out. At least double old range from out in shop to 2nd floor far side of house. Get link speeds over 100mbs. Internet speed went from 3-5mbs up to my paid limit of 20mbs. Very very happy with this unit.

I previously had a Netgear N750 router. I purchased the Nighthawk AC2400 thinking it would increase my wifi speed and coverage to my bedroom. It did not.
I thought about returning the router, but I got a good deal on it so I kept it. However, I had to purchase an wifi extender in order to get a better wifi signal to my bedroom where I stream TV (DirecTV Now and Netflix). The bedroom is just 20' down the hall from the router (see photo), but the "router" signal alone was not strong enough to eliminate buffering, even with a 200mb internet connection.

I recently upgraded my internet from 30mbps dsl to fiber optic 500mbps internet and required an upgrade from my old trusty netgear n900 which was a good upgrade from my linksys wrt54g. I value stability over speed almost all of the time. I dont want to deal with reboots and random down times. Id rather lose a few mbps for an always on connection. I initially bought the costco ac3000 nighthawk considering its black friday pricing was only $40 more than this but I quickly learned that even after messing with all the settings trying to make it perfect, it was sporadic and spotty, but it was fast when it worked. I returned it and got this nighthawk ac2400 and so far its been solid. About as fast as the ac3000 with good range for my large home. I turned on smart connect but disabled mu-mimo as mimo bogged down my non compatible devices to less than 100mbps. Without it on though, I am getting 500mbps+ to all my AC devices within 20ft of the rotuer, about 400mbps on the farthest corner room of my house and enclosed in my brick garage about 100ft from the router, I am still able to get about 50mbps. I am very impressed with the range and power of this router and as long as its reliable without any continual reboots, its going to be a keeper.

I had a similar router (AC1750), but gave it to my parents and thought it’s time to purchase something newer. I was mistaken. I thought it’s better to purchase an expensive powerful router to get all the features, higher speed and good coverage, so I’ve tried 3 different routers:
- Linksys EA9500 ($400)
- Netgear X6S ($250)
- Netgear X10 ($450)
All theses routers were overpriced and didn’t give any preferences. The speed and coverage were the same as my old Netgear ac1750 or even less.
Don’t believe marketing things. All those promotions about addional stream, higher speed, additional powerful antennas are just a catch and lie. You’re not going to feel all those features even if you have 20 devices (like me), so it doesn’t make sense to waste your money.
I’ve purchased Netgear AC2300 (which is an updated AC 1750 and AC1900) for just $89.99 and it works much better than those expensive routers.

I purchased this item for $90 and best investment ever. No more lagging and constant buffering when my son is on his Xbox and me on Hulu or netflix at the same time. It was also very easy set up no issues with that. I no longer need my WiFi extender in further parts of my house. I also like the nighthawk app I loaded it to my phone and I can control who or what has internet which comes in handy when you have a gamer who doesn't do their chores you can cut them off lol. Overall had it for almost a month and I'm very pleased with its performance. Definitely went beyond my expectations.

Got this as an upgrade from my ancient TP-Link N300 router, which had started disconnecting randomly and had trouble providing consistent WiFi to the other side of my house. This router solves both of those issues and more! It's definitely a good choice given the increasing internet speeds people are getting nowadays. I haven't had any issues with slow speeds.
I also really like the USB 3.0 ReadyCLOUD network access feature, the ability to opt-out of automatic firmware updates, and that the router config has the option to automatically select between 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. Haven't tried out the VPN yet, since I have my own VPN service already, but I'll get around to that eventually. I also barely use the app, but I guess it's cool that you can access/control everything from there if you want.
Just did the first firmware update since I purchased it and everything went great! I had to restart my desktop to get wired internet connection again, but WiFi devices connected fine on their own. Also super pleased that it worked so seamlessly with my TP-LINK TC-7610 modem and existing Spectrum service. I've had so many issues with Spectrum, it was nice that this just worked with no fuss!

Big Improvement

We have been using an old, slow netgear router for the last, 4 years maybe? In our old home we had most things hardwired so we did not have any issues. We built a new house and went with more wireless options, including SmarThings hub and some connected devices. That's when we saw the issues start. The older router could just not keep up.
Being very frugal, I just did not want to buy a new router so I spent weeks researching. Decided to go with Netgear again, the nighhawk models. So then there are several versions, all offering different speeds and bands. This one came up on sale and it seemed like it would be enough for my home.
The setup was really easy and Wow, just Wow. the improvement was immediate. My wife said her phone seemed faster. That is a huge win! I then did a speedtest and it confirmed, my highest throughput with the old router was 20 Mbps, now it is consistently 117 Mbps!

So far this has been a great router. The included iOS app makes setup a breeze and there are a ton of options to manage the network right within the app. I found the backend interface easy to understand as well. I am getting great speeds upstairs, with our router being in a networking closet downstairs. PS4 Pro has no lag at all.

I needed to replace mu router as it wasn't getting the full speed offered by my ISP. I replaced the unit in our basement.
I love the directional antennas, and it seems to have great range even from the lower floor of our condo.
Was easy to set up once we got a good unit. My only complaint was that the first unit I took home was bad, and the NETGEAR customer technical support was terrible. They had me on the line a long time (almost two hours), they were hard to understand, and regardless of what I told them... they kept pushing me to redo a step that WAS NOT WORKING over and over and over to satisfy some arbitrary requirement to validate my claim in their system. I work in IT at a help desk. I know what I am talking about and how to troubleshoot hardware. In the end, they finally agreed the unit was irreparably broken, and that they could swap the unit out via mail. I took it back to Best Buy, and walked out of there with a working unit in less than a half hour after getting off the phone.

I got this router to replace an old lynksys one. The antennas are designed to give extra range and speed. The router has performed excellent for the time being. I also upgraded my Cable modem to be able to get gigabit service and this router works great for streaming and gaming.

I bought this to replace another Netgear router that was two or three years old. I had great service out of my other router and the price on this unit was great so I was pleased to go back with another Netgear. I hooked this up and set it up in very short order. The two speeds on my old router had to be selected for each device independently, but this one can be automatically negotiated by giving the same credentials (login name and password) to both networks. I have two phones and six smart TVs and a satellite system and a Nest thermostat and who knows what else automatically connected and this router has detected and networked them all effortlessly. I speed tested my internet speed and it was really rocking. It completely cured my issues with streaming movies and although my house isn't large, the range of this device is awesome. I have had this Netgear router installed for about a month and so far it has been flawless.

Bought this on pre-black Friday deal. $89. Follow setup up on App Store and simple to do. Amazed at how fast it was. Went from a competitor that was an 8 year old puck style. Have seen the range increase and ability to keep up with several devices running at once.

I am overall happy with the router. The 5Ghz speed is good for the range i get in my 3 level house. The 2.4 Ghz speed in my old laptop is ok, not sure if its the laptop issue or the router speed. So far not seen any drops in connectivity nor did i have to restart the router!!!

I got this for 90 dollars as for the Black Friday sales, and let me tell you this..... this router is awesome at that price! You really can not go wrong at this price point. If you are an average gamer and have a few smart TVs around the house, this will be enough for your needs

I’m not very technical but my Asus router had been acting up and I had to constantly reset it. I decided to get a new router and saw this one at Best Buy on sale for $100 off. I am thrilled with this router! It works perfectly and was very easy to set up using the app. Please read the directions first as you must have the app installed in order to set it up. I also enjoy using the app as it makes changing settings very easy. Now I never have to reset it and I am able to pick up my Wi-Fi signal throughout my house and even in the bedroom where I always had a problem getting a signal through the cement walls. I use only Apple products and have no issues now with the Wi-Fi on my iPhone, iPad or MacBook Pro. I use Comcast Xfinity and it works perfectly with this router. My modem is a Netgear as well.
