I think you would need the Wi-Fi extendor to do that ide ask around at best buy just dont ask the front counter people they don't educate themselves on products. They will say, " I dont know I guess". Like you work there dont you know someone who actually knows lazy boopkins. all they can do is take money and guess.

The CM1000 is a modem only, yes you'll have to pair it with your Netgear router for internet access.

Yes. This modem works well with routers for wi-fi. I use Netgear's R8900.

If you do have a modem and router, and you wanted to use the netgear router to extend the range of your WiFi it is possible. Even though the link I put in here is for nighthawk routers, it's the same for all netgear routers.
