I already had a booster connected to my other router. The Nighthawk communicates with this one and the one which came with the Nighthawk
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.One DST unit comes with the R7300. It is a powerline network at 750 MBps to the DST. The product description on the outside of the box does not fully describe the requirements for connecting the DST to the R7300. You cannot have power strips, surge protectors, GFI protection on the circuit that supplies your house power to the R7300 nor on the line to the DST. I recommend trying the one DST that is included in the box on EACH end of your house before purchasing a second one. The second one is only $70, but if it does not play well with your house wiring, you are out of luck with this method. For about $70, you could buy a cheap second router to extend your network without relying on house wiring. Electricians are expensive, so using another router in bridge mode is cheaper than rewiring your house. Good luck.
