I did the activation myself, but it wouldnt accept it. called comcast and they gave my the run around because I wouldnt rent one from them. They said they wouldnt be able to activate it because it 3.0 not 3.1 waited an hr on hold for supervisor and sure enough it got activated. Works great. Comcast is full of crap. I work with electronics for a living. Dont let comcast sway you to return this and rent one monthly!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really. I had to start with calling Xfinity to get the phone transferred to the new router/modem. They can walk you through it though. Xfinity would still be the IP address thingie too. So the need to remove your old modem and add the new Netgear one to your account. The good thing is that will remove your fee once you return their router/modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You still have to call or chat with Xfinity but it was relatively easy and fast (once you get an Xfinity Tech). I have limited computer knowledge and it was pretty easy to install and setup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I landed up calling Xfinity because I could not get self install to connect. Spent all of five minute with Xfinity Tech support and was running with VoIP connection without problems. The Xfinity Tech was very helpful since the Nighthawk is an approved Router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I had no problems getting it to work without calling XFinity.
