If your cable modem has a rj-45 twisted pair out then you can plug in the wire that is included with this device. You just need a standard twisted pair ethernet cable it comes with some or you can buy a longer one if you need it. The cables included with this are 6 feet.

Please try again later.It sounds like you need a signal booster, it all depends on where your nighthawk is set up ( placement) if the signal has to travel through a lot of walls, then the weaker it will get, signal boosters will help pull to where you need it to the room your working in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.what sort of signal are we talking about? Is it clearwire? if so, does the ISP not offer a modem/router combination unit? Anytime you run wireless you lose quality/stability. I'd advise finding a way to wire anything possible. I'm not aware of a device that will wirelessly throw a signal to a router as if it's wireless in the first place it may as well be a router itself and project a radio signal.
