My MacBook has no issues connecting to this router. We have not tried to find the maximum range but service is great in our home (roughly 2000 square feet) and still works well outside in the yard.

MACs should have no issues connecting, range depends on your house layout and construction. A wide open area you can get 400ft range. Walls and floors will drop that by a lot.
