• No. Satellite internet service is not fast enough to run through a vpn. You may get it to work once in a blue moon at 3 in the morning when less people are online but as the norm they do not have sufficient speeds to run through a vpn. no router in the world will make your slow speeds faster.

• The issue is probably not your router. Check with your internet provider to see if they are blocking the VPN ports across their network.
