I'm not sure what that modem is capable of, but I do know that the Nighthawk can handle any speed that's out there now. But at $200 or so, might be overkill if you don't actually pay for type of speed. The Nighthawk does have excellent range though, and I have had 0 issues with 3 laptops, 1 android phone and 2 android tablets being able to connect and operate. I'm not a Mac guy though...so I can't comment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nighthawk is a regular router and don't has a DSL port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yep. As long as the ADSL2+ Modem has Ethernet out port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are using a phone line internet connection, you probably do not need a wi-fi unit with the data capacity of this one. Don't waste your money until you upgrade your internet speed at the source.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will work but there are two things you need to do. When you install the ASDL2+ modem make sure you call AT&T immediately and let them know you changed your modem so they can add it to their network. From their hook it up to the Nighthawk, configure, and you are good to go. As an aside your internet shouldn't be coming from a phone line. Unless you are way the heck out where the major ISPs can't reach you, take the time to upgrade to a better internet connection. You have a lovely MacBook Air and a new Samsung Note Pro 12.2 on the way. Its like your are planning on having 2 children in a one bedroom apartment. Enjoy your new setup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This r7000 should work with your Westell Versa Link modem and all your devices will connect to the router. However, the r7000 may be overkill unless you have lots of stuff on your home network and are streaming media. As a minimum, all you need is an access point to hook to the Westell. Check out the ASUS (RT-N12/B). If you want the r7000, you could buy just that and then upgrade the modem later if there is a need.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't have to get a netgear modem, but it will help you in he long run to use both netgear because in admin interface will be pretty similar and you may get to know your way around in time. Don't use your old modem for sure get a new one. Make sure AT&T says it's compatible for their network. I don't know if they will set it up for you, but there is specific info you can only get from them to set it up to work so you will need them without a doubt. Netgear r7000 nighthawk has amazing speed and range you can't go wrong with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WOW Thats old. Chances are that you will need to get rid of the Westell and upgrade your entire system. They don't repair these and you aren't even required to send them back if you cancel your service. THAS how old they are and how long they have been discontinued. I would indeed try the Nighthawk r7000 router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your existing modem should work fine. This router would definitely work as far as a wifi solution. Just follow the setup and you should be good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DSL speeds are very slow compared to 802.11 ac speeds. It wouldn't make much sense to spend $200+ dollars on one router that is meant for wireless ac speed. You would be better off buying 2 cheaper routers and using the second one as a range extender for your network. Just my opinion, but it seems like the Nighthawk router is extreme overkill for your situation.
