Yes, but you may want to also disable the wireless that is built into the FIOS modem. It wont make it faster, that is limited to the speed you pay for with Verizon FIOS. When you test your speed, make sure you test from a wired connection plugged into the FIOS modem. That will give you an accurate speed rating. If you do it on wireless it will be slower.
