- Answer Yes but I'd have your provider shut the router portion off on their modem because multiple wifis running in the same proximity of each other could result in slow speeds and even the wifi dropping put all together.

- Answer Yes it is. Look at my rewview. I have it installed to the Frontier Fios router. I disabled the WI FI on the Frontier Fios and put the ORBI router in AP mode.

QuestionIs there a reason why these mesh routers DO NOT have a modem built in for your ISP? They have stand alone routers with built in modems, why not these?

- Answer Performance is always better when you use a separate modem. Trust me in that if your goal is to have the best speeds and reliability, you want a separate modem.

QuestionThe description says "White" but the back and sides look black. Does the "white" designate the color on only the front or is this the wrong picture for the description?

QuestionWe are building a 5,000 sf home. 2500' on the main and 2500' on the lower level with half below grade. The lower grade also had a concrete storm room. What other equipment will I need to set this system up?

- Answer I live in a 3 story 8300 sqft home with a storm shelter and most of the basement below grade. I purchased the 7500 sqft set with the main unit and two satellites and it covers my entire home, storm shelter included as well as reaches to our pool area and our entire front yard which is a little more than an acre. Just make sure to place the satellites in a good location.

QuestionIs this compatible with Xfinity Gateway? If so, does the router sit near the Gateway modem with a wired connection? Will I then see 4 possible wifi networks in the home? (the cable modem/router, the Orbi router, and 2 Orbi satellites?)

- Answer I have Xfinity, and I connect the Orbi router to the Cable Modem. I have two SSIDs, one primary, and the second for guests. The two satellites do not create their own SSID. If you have a wifi cable modem router as your gateway, you may want to disable the SSID coming from that wifi modem. It's all how you configure.

QuestionI thought Netgear was supposed to be selling single satellites for this product so that you can add them into your mesh network as needed. Is that still happening? If so, anyone know when?

- Answer It has 3 options for security settings. WPA2-Personal, WPA3-Personal or WPA/WPA2-Personal. Well is does have a forth option, NONE, but I don't think anyone will you that setting.

QuestionI am having an issue where 2.4 does not show up and everything is connecting to 5ghz even after disabling 5ghz. Some items I have do not operate on 5ghz.

QuestionCan you connect the satellite devices to the router using a cat 6 line instead of using wifi to make the connection? Also, can you use a patch panel to run these lines to panel and then a single line to the router? Is there any advantage to doing this

- Answer Yes and Yes. You can do the back haul via a wired connection, which I see as the preferred solution. As far as a patch panel is concerned you are speaking to my heart. Its the pro way to go, but adds expense and (to some) complexity. Just make sure to use quality patch cables and gear. -Best wishes.

- Answer I have the AX6000 with a wired backhaul to my satellite. This way my satellite can be as far away from the router as I want. However, a major caveat is that the Ethernet ports are only 1 Gbps while the wireless backhaul for the RBK852 (if within range) is 2.4 Gbps.

- Answer Possibly, It depends on how the ONT is configured. If your ONT is set up with the Internet via Ethernet and TV via Coax,like mine is then yes you can eliminate the need for FIOS router. There may also be some addition setup needed for the MoCa network for the TV/DVR as well.

- Answer It will work with anything, but don’t buy it because it is not up to snuff. Go with LINKSYS velop if you can find it.

- Answer When the original Orbi came out I don’t believe satellites alone were available for purchase initially. Later on Netgear did start selling satellites only to extend individual networks. So my best guess is Netgear will follow this same procedure. I would say sometime in 2020 satellites will be for sale individually.
