• The AX6000 comes with a base unit (connects to the modem) and 1 satellite unit. That alone should cover about 5000 sqft. If you require larger coverage, you can buy additional satellite units that can be added to the base unit. I would think if you bought 2 sets of the AX6000, they would be competing with their wifi signals causing unpredictable results.

• Yes you can add at least a third as they sell them in 3 packs as well, but the idea of a mesh system is to be able to add more satellites as needed. However, the range is outstanding, so unless you have a huge house (over 6-7 thousand square feet) then I don't think you'll need more than two satellites.
