Absolutely. Repeaters (or extenders) essentially work by using half of their power to receive whatever WiFi signal it can get (in this case your router’s) and using the the other half of its power to extend that wireless signal. Basically it can only repeat the best signal it can receive in the first place, which can be good or bad based on factors such as distance from the router, walls, or interference. What separates the Orbi routers from most other mesh systems or router/extender setups (your case) is that it uses its own dedicated 5 GHz channel to talk only between the router unit and the satellite units, meaning that it doesn’t need to share that channel with any of your devices. This allows for a fast and reliable internet connection regardless of where you are in the home. The RBK30 kit is good for 2,500 sqft. homes, but if you need more coverage than that, then consider looking into the RBK40 or RBK50 kits. Let me know if you have other questions!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on a number of factors including your ISP subscribed speeds, the strength of your current router compared to which Orbi router system you choose, the square footage you're trying to cover, etc. To find the Orbi system that works best for your specific needs, we recommend using our Find your Orbi tool here: https://www.netgear.com/orbi/
