I have a similar set up in my house. My modem and network equipment is in my basement and my dining room and living room are directly above. The main unit is next to my modem and the satellite is upstairs. The satellite connection is very strong, no noticeable signal loss. My speeds have been consistent and above what I pay for from my ISP. I’m also usually maxed out, for the WiFi connection, for file transfers between computers and my NAS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perfect. I have the same setup and I lose no signal strength.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My home is on 2 levels and my cable internet modem is upstairs in the far corner of the house. I placed the main unit there and the satellite downstairs more towards the far corner and it works great. FYI, my house is 3600 square feet on 2 levels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's good. But my suggestion is for you to add the router in one floor and the satellite on another.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Orbi signal was designed to transmit in all directions, so having the router in the basement should not be an issue. If you find you have areas of low or no service anywhere in your home, we recommend looking at adding a satellite.
