How does it work with a "metered service provider? null

They will work fine, but just like any metered connection, it's all about your data caps and how much data and throughput you need, not the hardware that you are using to access the internet.

The Orbi has a feature under Advanced for Traffic Metering, You can set up the device t send a Pop up warning that tells you before the limit has been reached. You can even set up a rule that will disable internet once a limit is reached.

Orbi has a traffic meter (in router mode) that will let you monitor usage and reset at a given day/time per month, so it should work fine. It also has a feature to provide a pop-up when you're reaching your limit, or block access once your limit is hit.

The Orbi system is strictly a powerful router system. It connects to your modem via Ethernet and simply transmits your existing ISP subscribed service to cover approximately 4,000 sq. ft. (router plus one satellite) under a single SSID.
