I've got a BlueRay player and TV that both require 2.4 GHz. They both work fine in my single SSID house. Reliability of the connection using the Orbi is even better than on my old system where I had different names for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Rachio irrigation smart controller, an ecobee3 thermostat, a Withings scale and a Samsung camera all running at 2.4 Ghz with no issues. For devices with 2.4 and 5 Ghz, Orbi will connect to the frequency that provides the best signal. However you will not be able to figure out the frequency they are connected to, as you only see one SSID, and ultimately you don't care as long as you get the best performance based on where devices are located.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My laptop never recognized my old 5GH channel at all, I am able to use, so I would say yes. Although the Orbi, does not broadcast two different signals
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Each device will connect at the speed and channel it can negotiate with the Orbi system. The Mesh system is great. One network for everything. No manual network changes for 2.4ghz vs 5ghz.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your devices should be fine within your WiFi broadcast area. The Orbi's Tri-band Network supports both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and seamlessly covers approximately 4,000 sq. ft. under a single SSID. It also offers Implicit/Explicit Beamforming to maximize your connections.
