Assuming you already have Internet, you’ll need to run a ethernet cable from your existing router to one of these plug-in units. Then, run another ethernet cable from the other (remote) plug-in unit to whatever device you want to connect to the Internet. There is a tiny bit of configuration you have to do, but it is very simple to accomplish and the instructions are quite straightforward. If what you want to do is create a new Wi-Fi hotspot in a remote location, they also have a pair of these where the remote unit is a Wi-Fi router.
