This is a router, not a modem. The modem is what the coax cable plugs into - it feeds the router, which is the device that creates a WiFi network. If all you have is this device, you still need a modem.

Not that I know of. Some cable modems have a usb or Ethernet connection to your device. Probably need different cable modem or cable modem wireless combo.

You need a cable modem which then plugs into a router like this. Some cable modems will do the work of the router as well. This is not a cable modem.

This is a router, not a cable modem. You can still use it: The cat5 cable from your cable modem would go into the WAN port of the router.
