You'll need internet service and a modem first. If you connect this router to an internet-connected modem, you can watch Netflix on a smart tv. If you don't have a smart TV, you'll need a streaming box or dongle like Roku, Apple TV, fire TV, or chrome cast.

If this is true, you can plug in the netgear router to get Wi-Fi in your home. If your TV is Wi-Fi capable, that maybe all you need. If not, you'll need to buy an additional device such as a roku box or chromecast stick.
