If you have the cable modem, then just get this and plug it into your cable modem. It will walk you through setting it up. You should then be able to connect your new laptop to it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yep all you need is the router plug into your modem and most will automatically take your through set up process. If not look into the manual and usually they will tell you to log onto the modem manually by typing the routers IP address in your web browsers address bar I.e. 192.168.1.1 and then a user name and password prompt will pop up. Easy peasy. If you have any trouble go to the manufacturer's website and usually it has visual aids showing you what I explained. Hope this helps.
