It extends your exiting network, but it also creates an EXT SSID name as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Will it create a new WiFi network? Yes and no. It will piggy back off of your current network. However yes, because when you go to look for the network, it will be its own option. Example... if your networks name is "ABC123", once this device is set up, it will show another network you can connect to labeled "ABC123 - EXT". And yes, you will need to connect your devices directly to the extended network for it to work. Now... I have a Chromecast that is connected to this device directly, however, my phone is always connected to my router. It still controls my Chomecast that's connected to the extender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Basically, it piggybacks on your existing wifi by creating another connection with '.ext' to your wifi. It only extends the range of your wifi. So, say your modem/wifi is in the living room, you plug this gadget outdoors still in range with the wifi, you've now extended your wifi to your back yard. .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It sets up a new network using the name of your current network & "_EXT". For secured networks, the password remains the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is an "EXTENSION" of your current wireless network. Once recognized you will connect top the EXT conncetion. It LOOKS like a different netowrk but it is not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It increases the signal strength and it does have a different wifi name, but uses the same security as the main router
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do rename it, so the devices accessing the extended network will not be on the same network as those pn the original network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It takes your existing wireless signal and boosts it. Your device gives you the option to connect to which ever network you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Increases signal strength
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender will create a new network, named same as your existing network, with the suffix "-ext" added. So you will be able to sign into your new network or the old network.
