The printer itself would have instructions on this. There are many different ways of doing it - the most common of which is for the printer to see the SSID of the router via some some of interface (however that is offered through the wireless printer).

I'm using the same kind of wireless router you are and I'm using this wireless print server to provide Internet access to a desktop computer (the WPS has 4 ethernet ports and 2 USB printer connections) and it makes the printer available to my netbook and laptop even when the computer is turned off. I actually print wirelessly through the network from my desktop computer even though my desktop is connected to the same print server for it's network access. In other words, the printer is not connected directly to the computer at all.
