You would set a password. A default password is already installed. You could keep that or change it to your own unique password once you set it up.

Type 192.168.1.1 in the address and hit enter. This should get you into the router setup screen. You can also read your instructions or go to Belkin's website. I'm sure you can find something on You Tube also.
