In response I would say yes you need a router in order to use Wi-Fi and it would also require a separate cable modem. So if you're going to use this model make sure you get a modem if you don't want to buy them separately by a combination router and modem that will likely save you some money but it's unlikely that you'll get the same degree of speed and efficiency from your set up.
