I am constantly on the internet, however, the router is more for my copier which is across the room from my computer. I could easily live without the router otherwise.

You could use the router on an internal network without the internet. You will not be able to access the internet, but for accessing local resources, it would work.

No idea what you're asking, but I'm going to guess your question is if the router is necessary in order to get on the Internet. In response I would say yes you need a router in order to use Wi-Fi and it would also require a separate cable modem. So if you're going to use this model make sure you get a modem if you don't want to buy them separately by a combination router and modem that will likely save you some money but it's unlikely that you'll get the same degree of speed and efficiency from your set up.
