I've had routers last 2 or 3 years and others that have lasted until they were so obsolete that I pulled them from service for replacement! A lot depends on cooling and usage. Seven or eight years is a good long life for a router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I replace my router every 4 or 5 years, usually to take advantage of newer technology. On that cycle, I never had a router die on me. Actually, I am kind of impressed that you got almost 7 years of service from your router.
