• You may play offline with compatible games. Some games have online features. There is a digital marketplace for games and there could be updates for the device via internet.

• Not really you should be good with any game you could get connected if you want to play online or buy digital games but others than that not really.

• It does not require internment to play cartridge games. It requires internet connection to buy and download games and access the web.

• it has an option of using internet connection for certain games, but it is not required at all!

• Not really. Most games do not require an internet connection if you play offline. But, software updates will require a connection.
