A:Answer I've found that it's easier to load a shelf with Pinot bottles by alternating the direction of the bottles. I know some folks prefer to see the labels, but I think it's more important to optimize storage space. I have also switched up which type of bottle on each side of a shelf, i.e., one shelf I've loaded three bottles of Pinot (alternating their direction), and two other types. The next shelf, I've loaded cabernets and Reislings, while putting two bottles of Pinot on the other side. This way there's allowance for the difference in width.
