The camera needs to be connected to your car for this to be automatic. You can manually do this, but uaing the included cable ir attaching via the wirekit will make this work a lot better.

If you have your camera hardwired to an always on fuse tap, the camera will turn itself back on if you manually turn it off. If you would like to have the ability to turn the camera off and have it stay off, I suggest switching the fuse to a switched on fuse.
