Yes you can save a video with voice commands as long as your connected to the alexa app on your phone. Also this cam only works with the nextbase micro sd card. It will not function properly with any other brand. Good cam tho it seems.

Please try again later.Hello Mark, You can protect footage on the 522GW by pressing the Protect Button underneath the screen on the camera (the Protect Button says Nextbase). Or if you have Alexa enabled via your MyNextbase Connect mobile phone app, you can command Alexa to protect a recording by saying "Alexa, ask my Dash Cam to protect this file".
