GPS and speed are independent. You can have one or both. No, it doesn’t automatically store video on the phone. You have to download the segments you want thru wi-fi. In my experience that connection is terrible on nextbase cameras. The app is free.

It can be turned off on files if required. If you dont wish to pick up GPS for speed and location then the USB end of the cable can be plugged into the dash cam rather than the mount to disable it. 2. The speed and GPS are tied together so you would need to have GPS enabled to record speed 3. You can automatically download and share footage to the app using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 4. The app is free of charge via Google Play Store or Apple Store. It is the MyNextbase Connect app
