“Are these cameras actually 110 volt or does the plug wire plug into 110 volt but step down the power to 9 or 12 volt DC to power the camera. If the cameras work off of 12 volt DC they can easily be hooked up to a solar powered system.”

Thank you for the question and happy to try and help. These systems are made to work with confirmed product accessories, and in this case A/C power. We do have battery powered cameras that will be gaining solar powered support later this year. To ensure proper performance and ensure safe usage, any modification of equipment or use would void the 1 year product warranty. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
